A very important conversation.
What about
long-term care?
Long-term care insurance can be one of the biggest emotional and financial decisions you may face. I’ll help you understand your options, answer your questions, and build a plan that makes sense for you.
I’m planning for myself or my family
You have questions about long-term care, but you're not sure where to start. I'll walk you through how coverage works, what's available, and what may make sense for your situation.
I’m a professional
helping a client
Your client has specific questions about long-term care insurance, often because they have experienced the challenges of caregiving for a family member firsthand. If you are not completely comfortable addressing all of their concerns, I can serve as your long-term care insurance specialist.
When it comes to long-term care, specialization matters.
You wouldn’t ask your primary care doctor to perform heart surgery.
You’d find a specialist.
With more than 25 years as a long-term care insurance specialist, I help individuals, families, and financial professionals navigate a complicated area of insurance.
Because I work with all the major carriers and different types of long-term care solutions, I’m able to explain the options, answer questions, and help you understand what may make sense for your situation.
I also work alongside financial professionals, helping them educate their clients and navigate the long-term care conversation without having to become a long-term care insurance specialist themselves.
Whether you’re planning for your own future or looking for an LTCI specialist to support your clients, I’m here to help.

A simpler way to approach long-term care planning
You don't need to know which policy you want before we talk.
That's where I come in.
01 — Start with a conversation
We'll talk about your situation, your concerns, and what you're hoping to accomplish. I'll explain how long-term care coverage works and answer your questions.
02 — Look at your options
There isn't one solution that makes sense for everyone. I'll research the options available to you as well as all the carriers and walk you through what each one can do.
03 — Build the right coverage
We'll design the coverage together based on what you want your plan to accomplish and what you're comfortable with.
04 — I'll stay with you
Once you decide to move forward, I'll help guide you through the application and underwriting process. And I'm still here after the policy is in place if questions or claims come up.
Helping Your Client
Helping Your Client
Your client doesn't need you to be an LTC expert.
They need a
specialist you trust.
When long-term care comes up, you have a specialist in your corner that cares about your clients.
-
Long-term care is an important part of financial and estate planning, but it isn't an area every professional has the time or desire to specialize in. That's where I come in.
-
I will help your client understand their options, answer their questions, and guide them through the process in a clear and educational manner. I'll work alongside you every step of the way to help provide a positive experience for both you and your client.
-
I work alongside you throughout the process, helping your client design coverage around their goals while you stay involved in the relationship.
Think of me as an extension of your team and a resource whenever long-term care planning conversations arise.
I didn't set out to sell every kind of insurance.
I chose to specialize.
Early in my career, I was working in health insurance when someone asked me about long-term care insurance. At the time, it was still relatively new, and I quickly realized that few insurance professionals understood it.
That caught my attention.
I decided to learn everything I could about long-term care insurance, the companies offering it, and the different solutions available. More than 30 years later, that’s still what I do.
I’ve spent my career getting to know this one area of insurance, so you don’t have to.
Before I Start
-
Most people think this is a financial decision, but it is more about making a difficult time a bit easier on the people you love and lessening the burden on them.
-
The best age to purchase LTC is around 55. There are some caveats, mainly if you have a health condition, but we can cover people all the way up to age 81. I recommend starting to think about it around age 50.
Understanding Coverage
-
It covers care wherever you need it: in your home, assisted living, adult daycare, nursing homes, and more. In fact, most of the policies I gravitate toward today are cash-benefit policies that allow you to use the money in any way you desire.
-
No. Medicare may pay for up to 100 days of skilled care under certain circumstances, but it does not cover long-term care.
-
There are three different LTC solutions, and each one has different costs involved. Pricing is specific to factors like your age, gender, and whether you are married or single.
Making a Decision
-
Everyone is different. Some people have pensions, while others have different sources of income or assets. Most people want to cover the majority of their potential exposure, but not necessarily all of it. This is something we will design together.
-
There are three different types, and on our call, we will discuss all three so you can understand how each one works.
-
Once you get the policy, you have a contract with the carrier. It doesn't matter if your health changes later, you're locked in. That's why it's important to get coverage early. It protects you even if you've had health issues in the past.
